Jessie Thunder

Posted in Uncategorized on November 16th, 2007

Remember when I said that Goldskull was pretty much dead in the water, and that a new project was taking its place? - You know, last post? This is the new plan. Jessie Thunder - The World is Mine! is a kid-friendly comic that I’m doing as my next Bomb Shelter exclusive strip, and I’m also going to serialze it over at the new Comicopia Online, a new non-profit that seeks to get kids reading good, clean comics. The goal of the group will be to eventually put together a collection of our best work and distribute it, for free, to schools across the country.

But enough about that, you probably want to know about the comic. Jessie Thunder is a child prodigy who just happens to be a megalomaniac; she wants to rule the world, and could very likely do it. However, she plans to do it after college; Jessie wants to get a PHD so her title of “Dr.” will be legit - she hates those poser mad scientists who claim the title of doctor without having earned it. However, she’s not the only one with aspirations for world domination, and there are a number of supervillains that could make a run at global control, and Jessie has taken it upon herself to stop them.

Boris

Now here’s Horace’s counterpart, Boris. They’re both just about eight feet tall, and are powerful enough to demolish a small European principality in a few minutes. (not that they will) I know it’s kind of cliche to go with the red and blue color schemes, but it works for me. I can work with those colors well enough.

Horace is the more intellectual and passive of the bots, and, judging by that stance, it’s fairly obvious that Boris is the more agressive one. He likes to fight, and that’s all there is to it.

Horace

Here’s a design for Horace, one of two robot characters for a new project I’m developing for the Comics for Communities initiative. Suffice to say, Goldskull is pretty much dead right now; I may go back to it later, but for now I want to do something more family-friendly.  I miss that old magic from the Cute Ninja Girls days, and I feel like I can get that with this project - more info will come on that.

I’m sorry I haven’t posted much. It’s a combination of a heavy workload and some exhaustion - health and school comes first, you know? Things are getting better, and I’m drawing more regularly, so there will be plenty to come very soon. Thanks for sticking with me.
