WotG gets user blogs
I’d been talking the idea of giving each author on Way of the Geek their own blog over with Mike for sometime, but never fully expected it to get very far. I wasn’t even sure it was a good idea.
Then, a couple of days ago, I got an email from Shawn M. with a few ideas on how to improve WotG. One of his suggestions was contributor blogs…less than a week later here they are, ready for the world to see. Not everyone has updated theirs yet, so I’m holding off on making the official announcement. So far, though, I gotta say, I’m pretty impressed.
I’ve dropped a ton of shared themes on to the setup, and I’ve even set up an LJ cross-posting plugin for those of us who have LiveJournals as well. The LJ plugin even lets you control your privacy settings, allowing comments, and all that good stuff. Very impressive, and my hat goes off to the people who coded it.
Anyway, in case you missed it, WotG got a face lift the other day as well. The new style is still in the beta stage, but it’s a HUGE improvement over what it had been, so I’m fairly happy with it. Also, Shawn M. has been doing an awesome job of working on InnerGeek he seems to be better at geek humor than I am, but I’m trying to catch up. All in all, things seem to be coming together a little better now.
