The image says it all. That’s all that really needs to be said.
However to explain how this lil gem came to be was a simple conversation about Sumomo’s seemingly unstable personality.
Then Windows Vista came into it, and I being the crazy one went on a search for images and came up with the result you see to your left.
I’m much too amused by this.
I do not know what others will say about this, however regardless I put it up to share with the masses.
Feel free to nab and share with the rest of the Internet. So long as proper credit is given.
That is really all I can say on the matter.

At around 7pm cst, I opened up a save of this comic page from Fatebreaker. After some lovely comments from the writer that was encouraging to myself as a colorist. I wanted to have another go at it, while chatting in Ventrilo with The Kid from Kids Korner.
I had been talking and coloring for around 7 hours give or take. When my Computer decided to barf a blue screen of death after locking up something horrible. I couldn’t salvage the session. 14 layers of work, gone. Poof, no more. I forgot to save. Yes boys and girls, let this be a lesson to you, save and save often.
In other news, It seems my debut at Way of the Geek With Manga Beat with Return to Labyrinth, has been noticed and linked back to from achan
This has actually brightened my dismal hour of grief. It may only be in the foot notes, but still. It gets my WOTG name out there.
So thank you for linking that review people at achan. You’ve cheered me up quite a bit.
NaNo on the other hand… Has proven, to be most hard to catch up on. I’ve found myself having to jump to a further plot point area, in order to play catch up with. I hope that by doing so I can go back later and fill in the more dreadful details that have thus elluded me. I’m also considering putting in fluff about two men on a date at some point, but that all really depends on how I do with this. I am quite behind the rest of the NaNo pack now.
However I shall persist dang it.
I WILL SUCCEED, even if I have to pull an all nighter.
Due to bodily functions: Manitoba Comic Con was a no go. October 27, 2007
Posted by caldi-chan in : Uncategorized, general musings, parents , add a commentYeah my partner in convention crime got sick friday, and then when we thought we could go for at least a few hours, his dad was late, today.
There was talk about going to it before, the JAAW dance, but honestly?
I’m not up for that. Going to Comic Con, when the good stuff is bound to be gone. So it’s just a halloween dance which I was signed up for, without really being *asked*.
I will however, exercize my right to leave early and go to moms if I so please.
This weekend was a bust.
Next Monday will have a new Manga Beat.
Caldi’s Manga Beat: What’s new in the Manga Pile. October 25, 2007

So it would seem I’ve been struck with the idea of writing once in a while, a segment called “Manga Beat” here on my blog. I think we can attribute it to the fact that I listen to music, and read manga quite a bit. In fact I even have to have music on while I write my Way of the Geek articles. (Which aren’t as poorly written as the stuff in here is -I hope-) So it’s hitting two birds with one stone here. Listening to music, reading a new Manga, and then writing about it. So lets get cracking.
First up we have Fall in Love like a Comic by Chitose Yagami.
It’s your typical Shojo Manga put out by Viz Media in the Shojo Beat section. Now normally I don’t read Shojo - anything, except for maybe Sailor Moon. Regardless the summary on the back, got my attention.
Basically Rena Sakura is your typical High School Student in Japan. Nothing unusual there. However, she’s not your typical student. On the side she is secretly a professional Mangaka. In fact with most of the young girls in her class, her Manga Cha♥mi is quite popular. This is most likely attributed to the fact that Rena writes “Manga that’s a little risque.” -Page Six- However and here’s the Ironic part, she has never been on a date before.
My first thoughts, when I finally opened this little gem was that the art style was akin to Clamps in the facial features. In fact Rena looks a little bit like Sakura from Card Captor Sakura. This includes some of her antics, however that’s where the similarities end, but then I got a glimpse of the male lead, Tomoya Okita. My first thought’s strange as they were, was that this character was the love child between Toya and Yukito. -Again Card Captor Sakura- If that were ever possible.
Regardless I moved on and read the book, having several laugh out loud moments when Rena decides to ask this main bishi lead out to “study” relationships so that her Manga could have more depth and realisim. However she really had no idea what she was getting herself into when she runs the risk of falling in love.
The irony of the situation here, is that while she writes Shojo, she’s never had a boyfriend before, and has never experianced a single thing she’s ever written about. That is till she’s met Tomoya. Hilarious, laugh out loud and gut bursting antics are to be had within these pages.
It really puts a perspective on why some comics seem to have more depth while others don’t.
Perhaps Chitose is on the right track, to have your comic or Manga to feel even more real, it would be a good idea to *know* what it’s really like, and to draw upon those feelings.
I found this Manga to be a rather good read. I’m looking forward to getting my hands on Volume two! In fact I better put this series on my discount List at IrBen Entertainment.
And she returns. October 1, 2007
Posted by caldi-chan in : general musings , add a commentIt has been long overdue for myself to come back to the stomping- or rather- typing grounds at Way of the Geek. My internet has been down for quite some time.
While on the technical hiatus, I have had many the day to ponder and think, and decide what to write about. As such, I have written several diffrent takes on my experiances at Ai-Kon 2007, which I will gradually cover over the next few weeks from the prospect of creative writer.
As well, I have had the time to play many games that went unfinished in my collection, and I have enjoyed many the day with my young schoolage daughter.
The situations with MTS are squared away, and while I am sorry to be behind in expectations, and things that have gone while I was away I am ready to tighten my belt and get cracking.
One of the first things I think I will cover is my experiance with Greg Ayers, better known as a voice actor in a few animes. I also want to take a look at some manga I’ve had the chance to read, as well as a Few games I have taken the time to play.
There is so much stuff I covered while unable to get myself on line, but took the time to write about. A few edits here and there, and things will be ready to go live on the main site at WOTG.
Also I have planned, by talking to Dallas from the Havok game in Winnipeg to arrange a day of coffee, to talk about what it’s like as the story teller in the LARP game. Not only that, we agreed back in August, to cover in depth, the process of making the costumes, sets, weapons and so forth. I am really looking forward to that.
So much to do, so little time.
However, I will remain faithful to the ventures planned and get them completed.
The hour grows late and I have to awake at 7 am, get my daughter ready for school photo day and take her to her morning class. I think, I am slowly getting used to the schedual.
This is Caldi-Chan, back from the non internet world of reality.
Ready to start typing up some storms.
