avatarAt around 7pm cst, I opened up a save of this comic page from Fatebreaker. After some lovely comments from the writer that was encouraging to myself as a colorist. I wanted to have another go at it, while chatting in Ventrilo with The Kid from Kids Korner.

I had been talking and coloring for around 7 hours give or take. When my Computer decided to barf a blue screen of death after locking up something horrible. I couldn’t salvage the session. 14 layers of work, gone. Poof, no more. I forgot to save. Yes boys and girls, let this be a lesson to you, save and save often.

In other news, It seems my debut at Way of the Geek With Manga Beat with Return to Labyrinth, has been noticed and linked back to from achan

This has actually brightened my dismal hour of grief. It may only be in the foot notes, but still. It gets my WOTG name out there.
So thank you for linking that review people at achan. You’ve cheered me up quite a bit.

NaNo on the other hand… Has proven, to be most hard to catch up on. I’ve found myself having to jump to a further plot point area, in order to play catch up with. I hope that by doing so I can go back later and fill in the more dreadful details that have thus elluded me. I’m also considering putting in fluff about two men on a date at some point, but that all really depends on how I do with this. I am quite behind the rest of the NaNo pack now.
However I shall persist dang it.
I WILL SUCCEED, even if I have to pull an all nighter.

You know, I remember when I was writing FB I had gone on a serious tear with one issue. It way like magic. The whole issue way flowing like a river in monsoon season.

Then we had a brownout because my mother used the microwave.

It was a freak occurrence. But I lost 2 hours of work over some bacon. I almost cried. I hoped that word would do it’s fancy auto save thing, but I came back to boxes. It’s like the world was pranking me. I save after ever page now. I’m OCD about it.

Yeah, I usually do save a PSD after each layer on a colored photoshop, but alas, due to conversation, and gettin way into the minute details on that page it slipped my mind.

And when Sumomo here. (My home PC) coughed up the blue screen of death I wailed and almost cried myself, considering how many hours goes into coloring one of the pages from Fatebreaker.

I have thus larned my lesson.
