Kids and their music. October 3, 2007

So a few weeks ago, I aquired for a Tia from the Chapters book store, a CD. The Cd of course is in fact from the ever popular TV show at Nick Jr called Backyardigans.
Face it, if you’re a father or a mother this is a high quality show you enjoy with the lil kids. For whatever reason, something just draws you in and you find yourself sitting on the couch (or floor) with your children watching intently as Pablo, Tyrone, Uniqa, Tasha, and Austin go on various musical adventures, dancing across the landscape via their imaginations. You may like the music, or the set themes, or even the fact that it’s just a fun show to watch. Heck, you might even be asking yourself, how come we never had such a cool show when we were kids?
Whatever the reason, kids and parents enjoy the show. Today the CD we got a few weeks ago, has been on repeat since we returned from my daughters school.
You’d think after four to five hours of the CD on repeat that I would be sick of it. Strangely I am not sick of it. Like the show, it has drawn me in, and I find my foot tapping on the floor to the beat. My fingers snapping or I am quietly singing along.
The songs are catchey, fun, and simplistic. One song actually teaches about the values of saying please and thank you. Which just so happens to be my daughters prefered song to listen to. Strangely enough, she took the song to heart and now she has turned into a sweet little angel. Saying please and thank you.
The CD consists of 19 songs and one bonus video which requires Quick Time, which I aparently need to down load. However, for this family it’s the music we prefer to listen to.
Even now, as I write this Tia is singing along and she’s really good at it. She knows most words and even dances her own little dances. Watching her simply puts a smile on my face. So if there are any parents out there, I strongly recomend this CD.
