It really, really sucks to be on the Intiative right now. Anyone still on the line-up by now has survived Skrulls, a mutiny against Norman Osborn and much worst. In Avengers #32, the would-be Avengers are pitted against Thor and the Asgardians, with their only back-up the not-so-reliable Dark Avengers – who you probably don’t want to turn your back anyway. For many, this won’t end well – and for a few, it will their end.
Captain America is back in the last issue of “Reborn” – and once again, Marvel has completely squandered what could have been an epic return for an iconic hero. The sixth issue of “Captain America Reborn” is met with little or no fanfare, as everyone knows Steve Rogers is back, having seen him on pages of “The Siege” and several other tie-in books. Short of an epic twist on Brubaker’s part, this is looking like another missed moment on Marvel’s part.
In Guardians of the Galaxy #22, Moondragon is bad enough news. A pregnant Moondragon is a cosmic catastrophe waiting to happen, and a pregnant more-evil-than-usual Moondragon is nine kinds of bad waiting to swallow the universe whole. This book never fails to capture my attention – unlike the last entry, it’s the embodiment of everything Marvel is doing right.
And taking a page from “Age of Apocalypse”, X-Men Legacy #232 pairs Rogue with Magneto as the Master of Magnetism joins the X-Men in an all-out battle against Selene and her resurrected minions. But cheating death is never a good idea, and something unexpected came back with Destiny when Selene revived her – something with its own ideas.
To see even more undead madness, check out what happening in DC on page 2.

O_O They offed Lana Lang? Whoa.
On the other hand, now I have a deep-seated fear they’ll stick a Black Lantern ring on her corpse…
…And not only did they off her, but they did it in an ancillary book to the main Super-titles (which is all Supergirl is)? To my sensibilities, a development like that should have been in one of the “legacy” Superman books, probably Action.
Well, that’s what the solicitation says, Devin. It may or may not happen but . . .
Ughh. I didn’t think of that . . . I hope not. I don’t think it will happen though – most of the Blackest Night development seem to have passed the Superman books.
I agree, though, that its better suited for more mainstream Superman books, but placing it in Supergirl’s makes me a bit more interested to know her relation with the character.
