You may want to check out Avengers Fairy Tales #7 - it’s got a pretty catchy Wizard of Oz storyline with Jennifer Walters (She-Hulk) in the role of Dorothy, along with Iron Man, Thor and a couple other familiar faces rounding out the cast against Scarlet Witch, who promises to utter - you read it on the title - “No more munckins.” With an M-Day of a different color (and stature), this promises to be interesting.
Captain Britain and M1:13 #7 has Black Knight and the new bearer of Excalibur, Faiza Hussain, in what looks to be an unexpected - if not starcrossed - romance. Plus, you also get Blade and Spitfire where they should be - at each other’s throats, if not trying to kill each other.
On the DC side, Action Comics #871 has an Alex Ross cover and pretty cool plot courtesy of Geoff Johns. Superman is no longer the last Kryptonians, and New Kryptonians are intergrating with humanity all over the globe - but not all of them have the Ma and Pa Kent values in their youth, and some are sure to cause quite a lot of trouble. Luckily, it looks like someone has a back-up plan - Brainiac!
Kevin Smith has a new Batman book out entitled Cacophony and features Onomatopoeia - the killer Oliver Queen and Connor Hawke faced off against during Smith’s run on Green Arrow - facing off with Batman now.
As Batman RIP gets closer and closer and explained what the heck Batman RIP really is, Heart of Hush concludes over in Detective Comics #850, as Batman and Hush have what looks to be their third and final bout, and Catwoman lives hang in the balance (Note: Catwoman appears in Final Crisis though, making me wonder if the big drama is really necessary.)
Speaking of Connor Hawke, the son of Green Arrow is back in Green Arrow/Black Canary #14. Something is different about Connor since his mysterious kidnapping at the hands of the League of Assassins, and this might mean Connor’s return from a vegatative state has a few strings attached.
And in Green Lantern Corps #30, the Green Lanterns are sent to stop the Zamoran creators of the Star Sapphire from tampering with power rings, only to discover they are attempting to cure the Sinestro Corp members by - yes, this is a direct quote - “infusing them with love.” Apparently the Zamorans are really the Care Bears. I knew it.
Justice Society of America gets hotter with a special Superman issue completely illustrated by Alex Ross. The Kingdom Come Superman has even more to worry about when he sees the new Magog born right in front of his eyes, and leading half of the Justice Society down the same violent path. And to make matters worse, the old Superman and the new Superman are going to meet some more acquitances from old new Supes’ past.
Nightwing #150 also ties into Batman RIP as Two-Face aims for revenge on the first Robin and the entire Big Apple. Nightwing must now stop Two-Face from scarring half the population, and in doing so, take on one of Batman’s most stalwart and dangerous enemies for the first time.
That’s it for this week - it’s a slow one for big crossovers, but hopefully a week with new answers as to the thrilling conclusion of Batman RIP!

Reading the first paragraph here made me remember that Marvel probably has a first coming for them as far as I’m concerned - the upcoming What If? House of M one-shot that actually has me somewhat intrigued.
I’m sure you’ve heard of it by now, but for the benefit of our readers: This particular What If scenario takes off on the premise that the Scarlet Witch, when she restored reality at the end of the House of M storyline, instead of laying down the now-infamous “No more mutants” condition, actually said “No more powers.” This means that suddenly everyone in the MU with supernatural powers, regardless of how they were acquired - mutation, magic, gamma rays, radioactive spider bite, whatever - is out of luck. About the only thing not covered by the Witch’s edict is technology, which suddenly leaves Iron Man just about the only legitimate “superhero” left.
I’m not normally one for the whole “What If” alternate-history thing, but I must admit this particular concept is rather fascinating to me - particularly the previews I’ve seen, which see (among other things) a de-powered Peter Parker still trying to make a go at the hero bit even without his spider abilities. I might check this one out just for the “How do they handle this?” factor.
