Gizmondo is reporting that the Watchmen trailer, scheduled to run with The Dark Knight in most theaters, has hit the web a day ahead of the latest Bat-movie.

As WotG’s resident Watchmen fanatic… I must admit, I’m not quite certain what to say. On the one hand, it looks incredible, no argument there, and definitely appears to be emulating the look and feel of the Alan Moore/Dave Gibbons masterwork as much as possible (even allowing for the revised costumes of the heroes). On the other… well, V for Vendetta looked similarly promising from its own trailer, but when the film itself turned out to be a conceptual rewrite of Moore’s original story by a creative team that took away entirely the wrong message from the graphic novel, you can forgive me if I keep my enthusiasm in check just a little.
Still and all, I’ll definitely be checking it out when it hits theaters in March.
