The latest version of Ubuntu came out today. Version 8.04, code named Hardy Heron, has been released. This version replaces 6.06, Dapper Drake, as the latest long-term service (LTS) edition. Some of the changes and/or improvements under this release are:
Long Term Support
Compiz improvements
Transmission default BitTorrent client
Wubi (Windows-based Ubuntu Installer) included on-disk
Since it only came out today, we haven’t had much of a chance to settle into it. When we get more of a feel for it we’ll give you a run down on how it fits.
