The Playstation 3’s most vocal cheerleader and SCE Worldwide Studios President Phil Harrison will be leaving Sony effective February 29th. No reasons were given for his resignation, though rumors persist that he may in fact be headed to Atari to get their ship sailing again. Recent comments from Harrison regarding Sony Japan are subjective fodder for assuming he was pushed out, but as is usually the case, if true, these rumors likely won’t be sorted out for months after his departure. Regardless of reason, the PS3 has lost its most associable face man, much in the same way the Xbox 360 lost its when Peter Moore left Microsoft to helm EA Sports. Expect more details as they become available.
