On December 21st starting at 8AM PST Geek News Central will be holding a 24 hour podcast. The show will be recorded in segments and released on a special feed. Todd Cochrane is going to attempt to do 24 hours solo without falling asleep.
While we couldn’t get a time in our schedule to help out with the show, many of the members of the Tech Podcast Network will be taking part with the project. Subjects being covered are podcasting 101, podcast monetization, marketing, and statistics. This is, as far as I know, the first time a podcast project like this has been attempted. Once we get the details on the feed, we will be posting them for you.
Todd will be raising money for the One Laptop Per Child fund. He will be buying three laptops and, according to the OLPC deal, donating one laptop per each purchase to a deserving child in a developing country. The laptops that come to Todd, however, will be given away to three of the people who contributed to the fund. So if you listen and donate, you could win one of the nifty green OLPC laptops.
