The Week in Geek is back, but not like you remember it. We’ve taken the name and idea behind the old Week in Geek and put voices to them. That’s right, the Week in Geek is now a weekly podcast.

The release of the mario game on the DS was: The New Super Mario Brothers. It’s a redone and remixed version of the classic. Unless there’s a new version on Three with the racoon suit for the DS. If so I need to start going back to my roots in the gaming world.
Also it seems to abruptly cut off while talking about the texture maps.

You’re probably right, I may have been thinking of the SP I’m not sure.
The reason it cut out is you may have been listening to it while I was uploading the new version with the ID3 tag corrected. Seems to be squared away now, thanks for letting me know though.

No Dr. Who/Seperioth fanfics for NanNowrimo? Son of a bitch! Now I have to start over! And I was really looking forward to working Anne Frank into it!

Fun podcast, but I would definitely recommend working on keeping to the script a bit more. The fact that everyone involved spent about two minutes wondering, “How did we get from Halo 3 to DOA Beach Volleyball?” shows some uncontrolled drift.

There was no script, I don’t believe in them. The best “radio” comes when the parties involved are speaking naturally. We’re not looking to be NPR, we’re just having fun.
Most of the podcasters I know/talk to agree that it’s the best way to bring in more traffic, if you’re not having fun doing the show no one is going to listen to it. That’d be like listening to 45 minutes of “Damn, I hate my job”, just no good. We’ll try to stop making mention of the fact that we drifted off-topic though, thanks for the advice.

I agree. For podcasts it’s generally best to not have a clearly-defined “script,” just a format of bullet points to touch on, and then let the discussion flow free-form from that. There does need to be someone with their hands on the wheel, however, to bring the ship back on course if need be.
Personally, this WiG podcast is a lot better about that sort of thing than many others I could name. Can’t wait to be part of it myself.
