Those of you running Mac OS X might be interested to know that a new version of NeoOffice is available for download. The OS X office suite, based of OpenOffice.org 2.2.1, carries some pretty impressive features:
- support for Microsoft Office 2007 Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files
- support for Macros in Excel Files
- No X11 required
- International keyboard support
There’s also some features that one would expect in office software that apparently had been absent until now.
- Use of OS X native
- Spell Checker
- Address Book
- fonts
- Printing support
- copy/paste support
- drag-and-drop support
- Native Aqua menus
While it may still be lacking in a couple of areas (like video, plug-in, or applet support), it’s free and should definitely fit the needs of most home Mac users.
