Ever wished Warren Ellis would put out a webcomic? Well, starting in the fall of this year, you’ve got your wish. Warren Ellis and Paul Duffield have teamed up and they are set to put out a weekly 5-page webcomic called FreakAngels. Ellis, who has written such amazing comics as Transmetropolitan and Desolation Jones, broke the news about the forthcoming webcomic at San Diego Comic-Con last month.
If you’re not a fan of Warren Ellis, then this news probably isn’t a big deal to you. However, if you are a fan, this means that you can get your fix on a weekly basis. Either via going to the website week after week or subscribing to the FreakAngels RSS feed.
Now, the writer’s credits and work speak for themselves, but the promotional art is fairly well-done as well. The manga style that artist Paul Duffield has brought to the table doesn’t seem to be wasted at all. Duffield was the winner of TokyoPop’s first ever Rising Stars of Manga UK competition and the overall winner of the International Manga & Anime Festival in 2006. So he’s definitely got some chops artistically, I’m curious to see how the art and writing will mesh together. This should prove to be a good read.
