So what’s hot at the comic rack this week?
Amazons Attack #5 is the penultimate issue of the mini-series, and seems to be twisting like Tarantino, as all involved - heroes, villains and Amazons alike - start coming apart at the seams.
The cover of Black Canary #4 looks seriously messed up, and may send shockwaves rumbling down their relationship. Let’s put it this way - if the image in the cover is actually what happens, the wedding is off!
The Flash #231 - a departure from All-Flash #1 in regular numbering - still has one of the coolest covers of Flashdom in recent years. Unfortunately, I haven’t picked up Mark Waid’s reboot of Wally West’s return to the tights - on the account of it being sold it. Still, given Waid’s talents, if you see it on the rack - be sure to pick it up. These issues might just go faster than the Flash himself. Â
Justice League of America #12 concludes Brad Meltzer’s historic run on the title. The masterful novelist, who already has tackled Identity Crisis and Green Arrown, has done a brillant job on the JLA - so be sure not to pass this one up - and pick up the trades when they come.
Captain America #29 continues Winter Soldier, Sharon Carter and the Falcon’s hunt for the villains responsible for Cap’s death. No matter where you fall on the issue of Cap’s death, you gotta give Brubaker and company credit for making the supporting cast the main characters in this twisted murder mystery.
Ultimate Spider-Man #112Â continues Stuart Immonen’s takeover of artist chore on the most consistent Ultimate . . . if not most consistent title . . . ever. The comic opens with an explosion at the Ultimates headquarters - and the Green Goblin emerging very, very angry. Things are getting worse for Peter Parker - as if that hasn’t happened before.
A relatively short list for Marvel and a lengthy one for DC, that’s this week’s comic rundown. Check back for updates next week! Â
