According to an article on Slashdot last month some ISPs could be inserting advertisements into the pages requested by their users via transparent web proxies like this one. The proxy inserts JavaScript or HTML ads into the pages the user is browsing. This all happens without the end-user or content providers knowledge and possibly even without their permission.
Well, the University of Washington security and privacy research group has teamed up with the International Computer Science Institute to produce an online tool to see if your ISP is one of those dirty scoundrels who’s trying to make an extra buck of you while you still pay your internet bill. Simply follow the link and get your results.
