Now it’s time for something adorable. Bear and Kitten is a newer comic done by a cartooning pair calling themselves Bear and Kitten. It’s a cute comic, and the edgy material and humor nicely contrasts with the simplistic, mostly black and white art.
The humor’s where this comic shines. There’s no story per se, but the individual gags work well. A Pokemon battle ends up with Kitten stabbing a Bulbasaur; David Lynch directs a vagina, and Knight in Shining Armor Kitten gets sad. There’s a real appeal, as the humor manages to stay light. Each strip is a fairly quick read, and that means you can plow through the archives relatively quickly. The only complaint here is that the text is a bit small and occasionally hard to read.
The art’s a plus, and works perfectly with the characters. Mostly black and white linework, it uses color sparingly, but to its maximum effect. It’s almost abstract in appearance, and it still communicates the idea and gags well. So go take a read. I think you’ll be pleased.
