Sorry for the late post. Things have been crazy for this comic book geek. For those interested, Pierced did advance to Round 3 in Small Press Idol, placing 27th in the much-needed Top 30!
On to the comics!
Batman #665 deals directly with Bruce Wayne’s soul-searching on the pages of 52 - I have a feeling this metaphysical quandry will feature Grant Morrison doing what he does best! But definitely watch out for Batman #666 next month, which shows a possible future in which Batman’s son by Talia Al Ghul takes the mantle in a fight against the devil!
There’s a new Justice League of America out this week as well. I still haven’t finished Brad Meltzer’s first story arc, but what I’ve seen ranks high enough on my purchase list to recommend picking up this high-octane book!
There’s also the next chapter of Mighty Avengers out today. When I last looked, Tony Stark’s hand-picked Avengers were Ultron - but you’ve never seen Ultron like this - sultry and sexy! Considering Tony Stark just turned into a curveacous chrome goddess of death and destruction, I’m pretty interested to see how this all turns out.
We’ve also FINALLY got the conclusion of Ultimates’ “Grand Theft America”. Since this is not only one of the best books, but also the most oft-delayed, this is one book you definitely don’t want to miss. Just don’t get too attached - you never know how long it will take to draw the next one!Â
X-Factor #19 features the team where we usually find them - right smack in the middle of trouble, in this case forged by Quicksilver’s army of re-powered mutants fighting tooth and nail with the government and a squad of Sentinels. Given how much meat Peter David lays into this priceless book, I can’t wait to see the results.
