How can you take the worn out “two guys on a couch” comic and make it interesting? Just ask J.D Wenzel and James Taylor, (No, he’s not the folk singer.) who seem set on skewering the cliched, exhausted genre, and are quite successful in doing so. They make it quite clear that life revolves around the couch - at least in the first mini-story - and the jokes work; be warned, a couple of them are nasty, but they’re funny, and that’s what counts.
Who knows why the two main characters are roomies; one looks like a secret service agent and the other - well, let’s say his personal anthem is a Phish song. It is an odd couple, but the two play off well against one another. What’s really surprising is that the “crazy guy” that is so clearly defined in most couch comics seems almost balanced and collected in most strips. Obviously, the slacker guy, Grey, is your wild man, but we’re not talking Ethan from CAD here. Thank you Jesus, it’s not a CAD ripoff. It’s so much better than that. So go read it; there’s not much here right now, but it’s a good way to kill a couple minutes.

Wow, thanks a lot for that. However, don’t forget our very talented artist Jon Bliss. The man does not get enough credit.
