MySpace has been dominated by whiny, self-centered teens, and most efforts by whiny, self-centered comickers to insert themselves into that world and share their work have failed. Thanks to the efforts of Josh Roberts, there is now a place on the net where the entire community seems to be coming together, quickly and peacefully. ComicSpace is essentially a bare-bones MySpace for cartoonists and comickers, and this has proven to be a huge boon to the community thus far; in just the first few days of its infancy, ComicSpace has introduced webcomickers to other comic makers they may have never heard of, and helped others find new readers. Even the print guys have taken a shine to the project, as more and more of them are joining the webcomickers - a rare thing indeed.
Roberts is planning on introducing more and more features as time goes on. That’s good, since over 3,500 users registered at the site in less than a week. So far, this could be one of the biggest things that’s happened to webcomics, and perhaps even comics in general. Here’s hoping ComicSpace is everything we all hope for - so far, so good.

Comic Space is a great way for independent comic writers, artists, and creators like myself to get the word out. In less than 24 hours I have already had over 100 folks view my page and nearly 40 add me as “friends”. Take that MySpace!
Come join us!

Now we can all look forward to the time when we can talk about the “Good Old Days Of Comic Space” years and years from now. :P :P

I’m a huge ComicSpace fan. I’ve met lots of interesting artists/writers/fanboys/fangirls and found lots of cool websites (like this one!). And my own webcomic has received hundreds of new visitors. I give it three thumbs up (I’m from Mars. We have three thumbs).

Comic Space is a FANTASTIC innovation: the unique visits received by our comic sites have gone up by 200-300 per day since I joined on Dec 11th and in turn I’ve found a lot of new and interesting comics by others: so thanks to the genius that is Josh Roberts for setting up this truly accessible site - that’s offering huge benefits to talented comic creators who would otherwise doubtless have struggled for months in the shadow of the established giants of the world before getting anything like this kind of new readership. ^______________^
