Wal-Mart stores all across the country are planning a midnight opening on November 19th for the first sales of the Wii. While the rumor is that this is a nationwide event, you might want to double-check with your local store before sitting out in the freezing cold all night like a ninny.
This event seems to be a big deal, as I’ve had the same story come back to me about four times in the past three days. My question is, is it really such a big deal that Wal-Mart is opening at midnight? Most of them are 24/7 anyway, so they’re going to be open whether the Wii was going on sale or not.
Still, I’m glad to see the Wii come out…even with the goofball name. That means that the 360 will finally have some competition in the next-generation market.
