Everything gets “confirmed” on Digg, and I mean everything. Confirmed: 1st Party Wii Games Region-Free Says Nintendo VP, which, of course, was not true.
Today it’s all about pre-orders. “Confirmed: GameStop and EBGames starting Wii Pre-orders tomorrow”, “Nintendo Wii Pre-orders Officially Confirmed: Friday the 13th @ GameStop/EB”, “Wii Preorder Confirmed for Friday, October 13th”…
Wii’s mp3 playback is “confirmed”, as is PS3’s “XFire”.
It’s “confirmed” that Bush got money from the GOP scandal (which one?), as well as the North Korean Nuclear test.
We even know that it’s “confirmed” that Sony is worried about the PS3 overheating, and I’m sure it would only be a matter of time before it was also “confirmed” whether the batteries inside could burst into flames.
I honestly wish people who stop adding that word to their stories. Sure, some of the stuff that’s “confirmed” is, actually, confirmed, but honestly, if it’s posted in the media, someone is saying they “confirmed” the story, and if the big news about Sony’s extra-demensional space-sucker accessory for the PS3 is “confirmed” on Bob’s Big Blog, I don’t really care.
Stop it!
