As Newsweek is asking us if the World of Warcraft is a game, or a ” harbinger of virtual realities”, some of us are whittling away the time role-playing or chatting with our friends, making it seem more like the second option, but there are those that make sure we remember it’s a game, a contest even, and one of the ways to “win” is to do something first.
Well, Failure of “Risen” on the realm Alleria, a US realm, has completed the creation of the legendary Atiesh, Greatstaff of the Guardian.
Atiesh was only recently introduced into the game (during the 1.11 patch) and is the counterpart to the legendary Ashbringer, the Blade of the Scarlet Highlord.
As an aside, Ashbringer has been talked about in the game for quite some time, the corrupted version of the sword was only just introduced in the 1.11 patch, and the method by which to purify the sword is, as far as I’ve found, is not yet implemented.
More on both the sword and staff can be found here, including lore and speculations.
In any case, it’s a great accomplishment for the guild. Congratulations guys!
